Information We Collect

Donors & Supporters:

  • Name, mailing address, email address, and phone number
  • Donation amount and frequency
  • Payment card information — processed exclusively through secure, PCI-compliant third-party processors (such as Stripe or PayPal). We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.

Students:

  • Name, age, grade level, and educational status — collected solely to administer our sponsorship program
  • Photographs or identifying information collected only with written consent from a parent or legal guardian, as required by Mexican law

How We Use Your Information

  • Processing donations and issuing official tax receipts
  • Administering student sponsorships and program communications
  • Sending organizational updates, newsletters, and student success stories to donors who have opted in
  • Complying with legal and regulatory obligations in the United States and Mexico

Our Commitment to Donor Privacy

We will not sell, share, or trade our donors’ names or personal information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations. This policy applies to all information received by Planting Futures Baja — online and offline, across all platforms — as well as any electronic, written, or oral communications.

To the extent that donations are processed through a third-party service provider, donor information will be used only as necessary to complete the transaction. Donors who wish to remain anonymous or be removed from our mailing list may contact us at any time (see below).

Student Privacy

We take the privacy of the children in our programs seriously. Student identities, photographs, and personal data are protected and will not be shared publicly without explicit written consent from a parent or legal guardian. We collect only the minimum information necessary to administer sponsorships and report on student progress to sponsors.

ARCO Rights (Mexico)

In accordance with Mexico’s LFPDPPP, individuals in Mexico have the right to Access, Rectify, Cancel, or Oppose (ARCO) the use of their personal data. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us in writing at the address below. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

We are committed to protecting your information. We use industry-standard security measures and work only with reputable, encrypted third-party payment processors to safeguard financial data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; however, we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information.
